Doyle Creek Ranch, Marion County, Kansas — Pools of rain gather in low spots of tent roofs brought to earth during a weekend storm. The tents, raised a few days ago for the 2009 Symphony in the Flint Hills event, were blown down on Sunday evening by unusually violent winds. Workers have gathered the damaged frames and trucked them back to Kansas City for repair. It’s all part of the adventure of preparing for outdoor events. Everything will be back in place in plenty of time for this weekend’s concert. The surrounding landscape, though, is green and gorgeous.
