Farmer’s Market, Emporia, Kansas

It isn’t a good likeness. I’m not purple, and my body type is at least a little better than an eggplant. Nevertheless, the dark blob reflected in the vegetable fruit on the right is me – in case you’re wondering what I look like. But giving credit where it’s due, this vendor did a beautiful job of presenting his produce for sale.

    I was touched by the care this vendor put into displaying the produce. It adds such a feeling of depth to the activity, because one can easily imagine that equal care and devotion when into the entire process of planting, growing, and harvesting the food.
