Tallgrass Spiritual Retreat, near Matfield Green, Kansas – India and her family rose before dawn to watch prairie chickens do their colorful mating dances at a lek on the Jane Kroger ranch. Afterward her father, India, and I explored a stream on the grounds of the retreat.
