West of Kahola Lake (Kansas) a line of rock-and-iron-pipe fence posts are no longer used but are still standing on the prairie, well most of them are still upright. In his book Flint Hills Cowboys Jim Hoy calls them “Chapman Posts” after the man who obtained a patent on them.
