Chase County

The sun has dipped behind the hills and color is dissapearing from the landscape. I’m heading home, traveling south to Highway 50. It was a great evening, exploring rarely traveled roads along the border of Chase and Lyon counties. It isn’t my first trip across here, but the area still surprises me. It’s the texture of the ground cover, the fading farm buildings, the layers of color across the pastures, and a sense of being out there that few other environments can match. The two previous posts are from the journey, and more have been scheduled over the next several days.
