Kansas City, Mo – 128 W 18th Street, in the Crossroads Art District.
This is one of the coolest places I’ve ever seen. Probably not to everyone’s taste, but I loved it. It’s very thrown together and outsider looking, the colors, the strange mix of stuff, the music, the library of art books in the window. There’s even a note on the inside of the door that says “Please don’t let Dave out unattended” (shown below). The place feels very homey to the aging hippie in me.
