Broadway Cab

Broadway Cab

View a slideshow of snapshots from Paxico’s Meatloaf Festival and Car show. A long way from New York, this spiffy cab was one of my favorites at yesterday’s car show. Other colorful stuff going on in Paxico was the Meatloaf Festival and a small parade.

Turtle Mug

This boy was laying in the sun on a minimum maintenance road out in the Flint Hills this morning. I’m sure he expected to get through the day un-annoyed. Nope. I saw a gray fox too, but he was too fast for me. Turtles I can keep up with.

West of Lyon County Fishing Lake, Kansas – I saw the rose colored light under that shelf of clouds, streaked with rain. I pulled to the side of the road, set up my tripod and managed to catch a flash of lightning in the mix.

A bullet-hole ventilated rusted hulk is a permanent enhancement of the fence, along the country road east of Teterville, in Greenwood County, Kansas.

Multi-tasking Bees

Multi-tasking Bees

Famous for their incredible work ethic, I was amazed to see the bees continue to gather pollen even while mating.

Crab Spider

Crab Spider

Found this morning on a wild blackeyed susan at the Flint Hills Natl. Wildlife Refuge (near Hardford, Kansas). The little buggers and tiny but have kind of a macho attitude.
