A mid-winter haze mutes the landscape, and this was photographed through the dirty window of a friend’s Jeep as we plowed down a Flint Hills backroad— that’s mostly what makes it look like a watercolor.
Goose Launch
Kansas Farm Pond – Moving slowly, I attempted to sneak up on hundreds of buoyant Canada geese this week. A few crunchy steps in the winter grass was enough to put them all to flight. It was a grand sight, full of crazy noise as they spread the alarm.
