This is one of the main panels of the Liberty Bell 7 Mercury space capsule. The space ship is on display at the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, Kansas. The capsule, which sunk off the coast of Florida in 1961, was recovered in 1999 and fully restored. The Kansas Cosmosphere, a Smithsonian affiliated space museum, was recently voted one of the 8 wonders of Kansas.
