Above the clouds

Here’s a perspective I can’t share very often, above the clouds looking down. I’m high above the earth traveling toward North Carolina. Occasional holes in the overcast sky give glimpses of ground far below. As we get closer to Atlanta the plane is rocking on rough currents. The wings are all flashing light and rain, but we move through it before reaching the runway. Most of the airports in the Northeast are closed under heavy storms. When we land the airport is stacked deep with grounded passengers, and airliners holding until weather at their destinations clears enough for them to continue.
