Emporia, Kansas — Above, one of the workers among the army of volunteers converging on Peter Pan Park today, helps construct a new playground. The project was started by Leadership Emporia Class of 2004, and was continued by a dedicated team pulling together the funds to realize this community improvement project. It’s amazing to watch. Like busy ants brandishing power tools, scores of volunteers work in harmony, painting, sawing, drilling, digging, hammering…. It all seems so incredibly well organized and upbeat.
