Beverly, Kansas – this ferocious looking dragon guards its nest beside highway 18, on the north edge of Beverly, Kansas. A part of the Open Range Zoo, this is one of thirty or so creatures placed along the roadsides. The artist, J. R. Dickerman, also has more folk art at the city’s Soaring Heart Gallery.
