Saturday morning, Lyon County – I am taking a “short cut” on my way to watch Cooper Quarter Horses prep their colts, but soon after watching the morning sun scale the horizon, I find myself thoroughly lost. At least it is easy to tell which way is east. A morning mist is hovering over the ground turning the landscape into a luminous wash. In the meadow to my right a family of deer is watching me and preparing to bolt to refuge. It’s too gorgeous to keep driving but I have other images in mind. Maybe tomorrow morning I can return.
I love the morning light across the grass.
