Sunset on Herington Lake (Kansas) – This one snuck up on me. The evening colors were looking pretty uneventful as I drove eastward on Highway 4 last night. But as I glanced over my shoulder, toward the waters of Herington Lake, the colors intensified and were magnificent, doubling their show in the surface reflections. Out of sight, along the left shore, hundreds of Candian geese were singing.
Beautiful coloured sky and the water is nice and calm love it well done!
This is why I love Kansas so…if possible, could you add this to your wallpaper gallery? Also, have you considered adding wallpapers for widescreen monitors? Thank you for your work.
Beautiul! Such brilliant colors.
This is magnificent. Just amazing.
Well, Dave is so talented that he can photograph grass and it looks amazing. This scene offers it's own beauty, and with Dave capturing it it is immortalized for the rest of us.
Just gorgeous. Cheryl is right, it's a masterpiece.
Now thats an amazing sunset! beautiful light!
Another gem in a wonderful series. Coffee table book coming??
Thanks everyone, and I will add it to the wallpaper series this week. Coffee table book? Who knows… hopefully Cheryl and I both will have books within the next few years.
“calm”, perfect title for this image I think… interesting how a picture could be so relaxing!
Wow, gorgeous colours! Perfect composition, I like the reflection of the sky on the water.
Stunning! I'm speechless…
Absolutely breathtaking, Dave! Those sunrises and sunsets are tricky. Just when you think they're about over and you just didn't get much of a show that day, the sky will light up with the most amazing colors. You have to be patient–or in this case be ready to pull over quickly. It's an ephemeral, fleeting beauty that is so easily missed if you're caught up in the busy-ness of everyday life. You've captured it here for all of us to see.
You have a really great blog here. I wish I had discovered it sooner.
This shot is beautiful.
