Abilene, Kansas – This massive 1919 Baldwin 4-6-2 steam locomotive is the result of a heroic restoration effort. Retired in 1955, the engine sat on static display in Abilene for over 40 years. The Abilene and Smokey Valley Railroad runs the locomotive one day a month. (More later)
